People attending your conference or symposium may be able to enjoy a special discount on VIA Rail trains. You just need to ask! VIA can offer them a 10% discount on the best-available fare plan in all classes. The ticket is subject to the conditions and restrictions of the fare plan to which the additional 10% discount is being applied.

Discount does not apply to tickets issued on railway employee passes or pass products including Bizpak, Canrailpass, CorridorPass or North America Rail Pass. This discount cannot be combined with corporate rates, Contra accounts or any promotional fare plan or coupon-based offer requiring a separate discount code.

Group Travel

If you are organizing a trip for 20 or more individuals, you will find train travel doubly rewarding. Group members will delight in the comfort and service for which VIA Rail is known, while you enjoy working the benefits of free group leader tickets and attractive discounts.

• Free tickets: Group leaders receive one free ticket for each block of 20 tickets purchased for travel in Comfort class (economy); subject to a maximum of four free tickets. No free tickets will be issued to group leaders for travel in other classes (ex. VIA 1, Totem Deluxe class or sleeper class).
   
• Discounts When Traveling in Comfort class (Economy): Group members are eligible for a 35% discount off full fare adult prices on most routes. Your clients who will be travelling between Montréal and Gaspé or Halifax will get 40% off the full fare adult prices. More substantial discounts are available for seniors and youth! To be eligible for the special fare, all members of the group must travel on the same train. If, for any segment of the trip, the group is split into smaller groups numbering less than 20 travelers and the smaller groups take different trains, the travelers will not be eligible for the special fare on that segment of the trip.  Group members are also entitled to pre-boarding privileges, making it easier to choose a seat and ensure that everyone in the group is seated together.
